2001 ml 320 - AC seems to work fine. Problem is that water leaks onto the passenger side floor.

You have a plugged up AC condensation drain. Look under car - towards center - between gear shifter and where center AC vents would be. You should be able to see some small rubber hoses - check to see if any dirt or anything has gotten stuck in there.
