'84 500SEL Trans in a '83 Grey Market
 

Would an '84 Automatic Transmition work in a '83 grey market 500SEL?
And I found a place that has a used one for $350 + shipping. Is that a good price?

Yes it will work, only slightly different inside.

If you don't mind rebuilding one, I'll happily let you have one out of a grey market 500SE for the cost of shipping...

I got it along with an engine that I needed for my SEC. I used the engine, the tranny now sits somewhat out of the way in the garage.

I have an '84 transmission from a 500SEL EURO with only 84k miles (can send you picture of instrument cluster showing mileage) which was a backup transmission I never needed. Now I am selling all my extra parts since I recently purchased a BMW.
