Technical Help with Hrdraulics
Tech,
I am new to the site and need help with my S320L (2000). I got the car from a friend who got tired of fixing the hydraulics. The problem is when the car is a a high speed and hit a bump or pot hole the rear of the car goes down. In order to get it to the shop you have to turn on the auto leveling until you make it to the shop. All the shops here keeps replacing the same part and tell me it will go bad in 3 months. Well this does not sound right to me. To me can it be that the hydraulics has air in the system because the mechanics have nit bleed the system correctly. From my experience with hydrualics they will only go down if you have air in the system, they are leaking or one of the main parts fail. It can not be that this problems happens every three months and when you replace the new part it happens again. It seeems like something else is happening and do you have any suggestions or cn you tell me how to bleed the system or how to make sure the system has enough hydrualic fluid? Michael |
On USA cars that type of car comes with an air-matic system, the hydraulic ABC system is optional.
There has been some problems with the ABC system but most are related to a "pressure accumulator". MB issued a bulletin HERE & even had a recall for a improperly designed hose. Correct bleeding requires a MB scanner. |
