passenger side auto dim mirror

it's a 00 E430. the passenger side auto dimming function is not working.
the interior rear view and the driver's side dimming function works just fine.
are there any wires I can check to see if the connection is lose ? It was working fine till two days ago...

thanks in advance ! :)

anyone ? :D

Well, first thing I would check is the fuse box.

After that, I would try shining a bright light directly on the sensor. Still no dice, I would make sure the circuit is getting voltage.

If the circuit is getting voltage, then the sensor or the transistor that drives the electrochromic mirror may be bad. I've never worked on this model car before, but if you can get to that transistor you can check it for open/short with a DMM fairly easily.

Do you have the MB DVDs? If not I can look it up for you.

Cheers.

not auto

I believe the MB mirrors are auto-dimming only in the center rear-view, and dr side.

thanks, The sensor is working because the rear view interior and the driver's side work. it's the passenger side that's not dimming. would you be kind enough to check if the passenger side has auto dim feature or not ? i'm pretty sure it was auto dim. thanks ! :)

parts diagrams verify that auto dim/glare variants are available as flat glass
as well as wide angle for the right side.

no

Parts may be available and might have been used somewhere in the world, but in the last 8 yrs in USA, the pass side was not auto dimming. I might be wrong, but I don't think I am.
