Creaking sound from nearside front suspention

I drive a 300E-24v and when driving slowly with slight braking noticed a slight rubbery creaking sound which on I can replicate by pressing down on the damper and letting it go slowly at the top of its travel. I had the damper protection kits replaced a couple of years ago. I was wondering if its just due to a change in the weather that's made the protector rubber on metal produce the sound? I would add that the car is not garaged.

Any thoughts on the subject?
