Noise coming from transmission on my 1981 380sl 110,000.miles
I have recently developed a clicking noise comming from the transmission area. Only happens in reverse and only happens some time. Had transmission serviced and did not find any thing abnormal. It sounds like a reverse lock out pin (if there is such a thing) not comming fully disengaged, but only in reverse. Is there any thing in the converter that can cause this? The shift linkage also checked, O.K.

Be sure that it is not a rear wheel bearing or side shaft. I have had them make noise in reverse.
