I made the tester tonight and tried it out. Here are the results.
Pin 8---Code 9-O2S (before TWC) voltage too high, circuit open or voltage implausible Pin 8---Code 49-Voltage supply at engine control module implausible/low volts Pin 14---Code 11-Closed throttle recognition signal to engine control module(HFM-SFI or Left LH-SFI) fuel safety shut off to engine control module (HFM-SFI or Left or right LH-SFI) Pin 6---Code 3 I can't find the code description on this one. I guess that one of things that is faulty is the (front?)O2 sensor. Can you help me with the translation of the rest of these codes? Thanks, Tom

You have a low voltage condition at HFM module.
First suspect is OVP ...I would remove it and clean up the pins/socket, including the fuse ..clear codes and see what comes back. I would also still change the coil connectors as you have them on order [ maint. item anyway]

I concur with Arthur's recommendation. Clean up the pins on the OVP, clear the codes, and drive it. Check after a few days to see what comes back. If code 49 comes back I would suggest replacing the OVP.
There is only one O2 sensor on this car. How does it run from a cold start, before the O2 sensor readings are used? I wouldn't consider replacing the O2 sensor until you determine whether the OVP is defective or not. The code 11 on pin 14 is a common thing to see and doesn't mean much. Check the throttle and bowden cables to make sure there is some slack when the throttle is closed, but otherwise don't worry about it. Pin 6 is either the climate control or airbag system, don't recall off the top of my head. Either way it doesn't have anything to do with engine operation. - JimY |

Code 3 on SRS6 is Drivers AB squib.

Success!! This morning I went out to the shop armed with new spark plugs and connectors and most importantly the knowledge gained from this website.
I wanted to have some method to my madness, so I pulled the spark plugs first and inspected them. They had a gap 1.35mm, and I replaced them with the new ones. I then replaced the connectors and started the car. It ran like a top. I drove down the road about a total of 10 miles and was still running perfectly when I pulled into our driveway. I went ahead and cleaned the OVP pins and fuse terminals as instructed here. I have a new updated OVP coming in from Phil tomorrow. I am having a little trouble clearing the codes, but will try to work through it. Thank you again for your help. It is sincerely appreciated. Tom
