				Need help with battery PLEASE

Hello All, can anyone please help me. I have a 2000 S500 and my keys wont work. I havent driven the car for almost a week and its been cold outside around low 30's and at times 5 degrees. Also there's a little red light under "PANIC" which lits everytime I press the button. Could this be due to low battery in the electronic key or car battery? SIDE MIRROR Signal lights will flash when I point the key to the laser on the door at a very close distance but the ones in the headlights and the rear wouldn't flash and the doors or trunk wont open? The manaul key does not work either and at times it feels like it'll break. Thanks and I appreciate all coments and advice. |

Doesn't the fob have a manual key inside it that you can unlock the door with? I'd replace the fob battery, thats probably why the red light comes on.

Hello, thank you for the help. I finally managed to get in the trunk with the metal key. I noticed that when I closed the trunk, i didn't hear the "click" sound which locks it. The battery was too weak from sitting in the cold for that long. Jumped it and started running. I coudn't test it because it said battery has to be charged before testing. I'll charge it today and keep you posted. Thanks again.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't there a jumper terminal under the hood?

No jumper posts under the hood. They usually put the posts in the cars that the battery is more difficult to get to (ie: under rear seat, under cabin filter box, etc...). The key batteries need to be at the least 3V, if under replace them. Also when in the remote battery area, bend the remote tabs to help get better contact with the batteries.
