2.6 non starter
 

i have a 1989 2.6 auto that refuses to start all ignition items have been replaced and getting a good spark/ fuel pumps have been checked and are both fine also a new fuel filter has been fitted its getting fuel to the distributor head ok but does not seem to be getting through the injectors i have been told a possible faulty fuel distributor head then some say they are very reliable rarely give problems any ideas would be very gratefull

You might have a stuck plunger in the fuel distributor.

The first thing I would do is verify that the hoses going to and from the Idle Control Valve are secure at both ends. If they are, then I would remove the air cleaner and while someone is cranking the engine, slightly push down on the air flow sensor plate. This will allow fuel to spray out of the fuel injectors proving the pressures are in range.

sounds like the deal next to the battery with the fuse on it could be bad (I cant remember what the hell that is!) It either has a single or double fuse on the top-it is silver and I wish I could remember- Fuel relay I think...remove the relay from the black plastic base, inspect for any signs of shorting or green crud corrosion...also remove fuse(or fuses) check to see if ok...replace and then re-insert I used electric cleaner spray (or WD 40 a squirt will work too for polarity. let it dry a sec or two..It also could be your CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) mine was bad-replaced at 145.00 and paid and observed how to replace-let me know if you get to this..it was relatively a semi easy replacement from what I observed..(And paid someone to do) but I wont the next time!

Pull your plugs while the car is running and ground it on metal so you dont get shocked and see if you are getting spark. I would then see if by pulling them 1 by 1 to see if the motors behavior changes. If it doesnt then you have a problem.

You may not be getting fuel. check your fuel pumps for operation. While the car is running and when you start you should hear them working. You can remove them from the car and see if they are working by cleaning them then testing on a spare car battery

Check all fuses.

should the electrical connection on the EHA valve on the fuel distributor have voltage there with ignition switched on

i checked the wiring to the EHA valve no power there with ignition on

If you have the 201 service disc there is a battery of tests that can be done to see what is wrong after you check the obivous stuff.
