Hard Top Failure on SLK230
 

I have a 2001 SLK230 and the top is stuck in the closed position. When trying to retract the top the truck lid will open but the top will not unlock and retract. I have checked the fluid level in the actuator and it is at the appropriate level. I have also checked the fuses that I thought might be appropriate and found them to be good. I was wondering if there is a reset switch located someplace or some other simple fix that I'm missing before I trott off to the dealer and spend a small fortune to have this repaired. Any assistence would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a switch failure, S/69/1, S/69/2, or S/69/3.

definitely sounds like a micro switch is not working. The most common failure of the top mechanism is the micro switches that control everything.
