Transmisson ??? 2003 E500

I have started to experience a shuttering in the drive train when climbing hills. I have shifted to 4 with no reduction in the shuttering. It is only when I go to 3 that it quits. I have had the fluid checked and the computer checked and everything shows no problem. It feels like the transmission is not down shifting. Is this a sign of a major problem?

Have you checked motor and/or trans mounts? Motor mounts are 17mm new and are considered collapsed at 13mm.

on that & MANY other 2003 models there is a bulletin! VERY important bulletin!

The bulletin is about the possibility of a "DEFECTIVE" radiator allowing traces of
antifreeze into the automatic transmission.

If your car has that radiator.....Don't drive the car. Have the radiator replaced & the trans flushed. Hopefully it hasn't ruined the transmission!

Send me a PM or e-mail & I'll get you that bulletin.
