1993 E300 ,No check engine light on dash or under hood
 

I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction on making my check engine light work.Car has the M104 3.2L motor .Dash light and diagnostic box under hood are both dead.Bulbs are good.Need some diagnostic info on repairing or tracking down this problem.Car has good bulbs,new engine wire harness but no diag capabilaty

Check for 12v at pin 16

Yes no.16 has 12v.,,also no 1 has ground and 3 has 12v.
Today the light on the diag box lights up but no code flashing.
I last checked diag box about 3 weeks ago.Will recheck dash bulb this week

Change fuse #9....Circuit15/8 amp.

Replaced the fuse,no change.Light on unit under hood lights up when I push button,but does not flash any code.Not even a one.Dash light does not light,wire is dead.Tried my home made tool to check for blinking code ,nada.
Dumb question,do codes come from computer or that box under hood.I do smogs and have seen this problem about 4 times now,so i would think computer is the source of codes.Just does not hurt to ask.
This week i will check IATN for info from them.

Codes come from N/59 emmissions module.

Are you using the correct code retrieve procedure ?
..and be aware that the N/59 will not Flash Back any codes until the module has done all Self Test.
The question is .......Do you have a CE lamp when you turn the key to the Run posistion before starting the car??

Check engine light on dash is dead,bulb ok,no ground signal to bulb.Where is the n59 located?
To pull codes I push down button for 3-4 seconds with key on.light on box lights but that is it.I have tried many times but nada.I am using box near battery and have done this many times on other cars,guess I am lost at this point.Have owned this car for about 4 months and it never worked.

I think PO may have done some disabling to get rid of a CE , so you are going to have to get a schematic and start tracing..............

Do you get any codes from the other modules w/home-made tool???
