Windshield stickers on 1988 models?

I am wondering, are the 1988 Mercedes supposed to have the blue sticler on the driverside lower corner and the white sticker on the lower passenger side like the early-mid 80s do?

My 1988 has a "Mercedes" windshield, but has neither of these stickers on the lower windshield, nor any signs that there were any.

What year did MB eliminate these? Can they be purchased somewhere?
