New thermostat = new coolant leaks?
 

I just put my new thermostat along with the housing in and that seems to have stopped the leaks around that location....

Over the next few days I got a coolant light on (angry).

And there seems to be large puddles emerging near the oil pan gasket (I have a coolant and transmission fluid) puddle next to each other. I know my oil pan gasket is leaking so thats fair game -- but I've never had coolant down there.

Could my new thermostat have increased the pressure somewhere and caused somewhere else to start leaking or is this just coincidence?

Could be coincidence, or maybe you replaced the wrong part. I replaced my water pump, but it is very possible that all I needed was new hoses. Only after I replaced the water pump did the hoses start leaking noticably that I knew it was them. Before then, I thought it was the water pump, but who knows. It could have been both. Just one after another.

Same thing happened to me and I needed new hoses as well as the thermostat.

Your radiator also has an integrated tranny cooler at the bottom of the radiator...check for leaky metal hoses or core leaks...might be why you are now seeing tranny and coolant fluids...

Well I just jacked her up but I can't seem to see where its coming from.

It isn't dripping though -- its "spitting" out so its gotta be pressure related.

EDIT: Now that I put two and two together -- this would explain the sudden increase in the smell of coolant through my fans (I have a stop leak thread over in OD on it). Would this suggest that it could be coming from the heater core alone or would that cause interior-only leaks.

are integrated into the coolant radiator...like 2 seperate radiators in the same housing....if the common radiator goes it will affect both the transmission and the engine....same unit performing 2 seperate functions...

Could this cause a mix of the two? The leaks coming out seem to have both transmission and oil in it. Its final drip point is coming near the torque convertor. Now whether they are two separate leaks and coming to the same point is one possibility. I can't seem to find where my oil is leaking from although its coming from somewhere near the front of the engine....I plan to get some fluorescent dye to find it.
