W124 1995 E320 fault codes 5 & 21
 

I pulled fault codes 5 (Exhaust gas recirculation inoperative) & 21 (Bad Purge Switch-Over Valve).

I pulled those codes because the CEL came on and I had no A/C in the cabin (nothing was coming out of the vents-just the heat from the engine)

Are codes 5 and 21 interelated? What do you think should be my first course of action on my 95 e320?

First step is to clear the codes and see what comes back. Also build the code reader and check the other pins for codes including pin 7 for AC.

Thank you... I erased the codes and I replaced fuse#7 (which it was bad) and so far no problems....

If code 5 comes back do a search for "EGR pipe".
