Transmission Kicking

Had my transmission rebuilt when I acquired my 82 300CD this summer. Because I'm new at Mercedes engineering, I'm not sure if the kicking's normal.

Second gear comes in hard and the third kinda slips in....Gets better (smoother) when I play with the trottle but is it ok for these transmission to be a bit rough?...
