Removing front turn signal lens on a 81-91 W126?

I have a bad turn signal bulb on my 88' 300SEL. I cannot figure out how to remove the lens and its about the only light in the manual that it does not show how to change. I never had to change these on my old 85' W126, so I have no clue.

Anyone help?

Thanks!

Open the hood and look at corner light. There is a plastic wheel that if turned counter clockwise you can remove it. The entire corner lens can then pulled forward and away from the fender. The actual bulb socket is just below that wheel. Remove the wiring and you may be able to turn the socket (to the left) and replace the bulb without removing the the entire lens.

You can change the bulb without removing the lens....just undo the plug, twist the socket out, swap bulbs, and put it back in. Takes about 45 seconds....

Thanks guys... wow, that was easy! It looked so difficult from the outside too. ;)

Pull the plug out, change the bulb, insert the plug.

"Done done it". :) Took all of 25 seconds. :D

Do you know how long it takes me to change the side front marker light on my LS400? The first time I did it on my last one took me about 15 minutes, because when placing it back in (this is the big clear light on the side of the front fender on these) its a tight fit to get it back in place. You have to get it just right, or forget it. After that I knew why so many of these go around with blown front side marker lights. ;) When I got my current LS400, BOTH of them were blown, but by then I had the technique down and changed them both in about 5 minutes. :o

Thats why Toyota's suck to work on, the whole car is like that. They are ment to be fixed. MB's are built to be taken apart and repaired.
