Speedometer needle on 2002, c320

Good Day. I''m from the Canadian Prairies. Today it was -4 celsius aprox 25 F. The vehicle sat outside for aprox 6 hours. When I started it, the speedometer needle seemed to 'rattle' and make a noise. I started driving it and then it stopped, speedometer needle seemed to work fine until I parked the vehicle and removed the key from ignition. Speedometer Needle started acting up again and rattled for about 10 sec and then it stopped.

Vehicle only has 70,000 km, I'm the second owner and this is the 1st winter I've had it, 1st owner had the vehicle out east where weather is milder. I am Super surprised that its acting up in -4C weather because where I'm from it gets as cold as -40C (-40F) in Jan/Feb...So its going to be put through the extreme test this yr.

Could it be the speedometer cable? Should I replace it or lube it? Is this serious? Suggestions?
