1980's AMG Widebody's
 
Quick question for anybody familiar with the AMG "Widebody" bodykits fitted to AMG SEC's back in the mid 80's.....were the fenders of the widebody's made from steel or composite?.....I always thought that the genuine article was made from steel and that the rear spoilers were plastic composite...can anybody clarify?

Also if made from steel were they welded to the bodywork or riveted?

If I recall the SEC's had a kit with an AMG part number that was made of fiberglass.

However depending on the AMG licensee's capabilities, some shops such as Westmont USA did sheet metal fabrication.

Most of the 124 kits were sheet metal.
