93 300E Wont start, anti-theft replated I assume
 
so its a 93 or 94 mabey 95 not sure,

the car will NOt start, Im almost positive its something to do wjtht he anti-theft system.

#1 All the turn signals are flashing

#2 I put the key in the ignition and turn it over and nothing, then it kinda locks.

I tryed locking all the dorrs, waiting 150 seconds for the alarm to go off, then unlocking the passaanger door to diable the alarm and the car still wont start and the lights are flashing

Ive pulled many fuses from under the hood, nothing

I located the black box under the passanger floor under the metal, has tto plugs i disconnected them both, Nothing.

I unlocked the trunk ,nothing.

im assuimg the anti-theft system is not allowing me to start the car.


I need to diable the alarm, anyone have the same experience?

this is a Gasonline vehicle, im pretty sure its a 300E or e300 4 foor

I remember reading about fuse number 5 somewhere too, but they said it was in the trunk. I mean, I looked at the fuses and they didnt look bad, BTW, im not too familiar with MErcedes, but these fuses are not the same as other cars, these fuses look like pills, and the fuse box is in the engine bay in this car.

That is not a 94/95 124 chassis.

Unlock all the doors and see if the Armed lamp is lit...

anyway, ive tryed lokcing the doorrs unlokcing them unlocking the trunk the damn alarm will NOT go off!!!!!!!!!

So i read somewhere there is a connector right buy the brake resevoir, I jumped the middle wire placed my wire in the middle of the connector and ran the wire to the battery NOTHING.

I guess imma have to call a trown truck .

ok, when i go to the carimma check the fuse, doubfully enough. After I unlokc all the doors your sayign the red led or light ?

Then what ?

im trying to gather anything I can do before I go to the car again, the car is 20 miles from me and it sucks driving back and forth to there this is the 3rd time today! lol

Before you call the tow truck, try that jumper again..that should not have anything to do w/alarm.

To the left of brake fluid reservoir, the plug with 3 wires on the fire wall ...
The jumper goes from battey POS to the middle wire on that connector. That should crank the engine starter over.
Does it???

that is what I tryed, I unplugged the connector, place y wire inside the middle connector, ran the wire to the + battery terminal and nothing.

Im in denial that it is anything else other than the anti-theft system, the hazards keep flashing.

What I am telling you is not to plug the jumper into the connector you took off...you jumper to the center terminal of the plug that is mounted on the firewall , not the harness you unplugged.
That is just to get you going.
The problem is in fact that the alarm is ARMED..that is why I asked about the ARMED RED INDICATOR light.

so I did what you told me witht he middle connector, Starts right up!!

However, put everything back the way its suppos to be and try to start it noithing.....

Damn alarm system, You can here something clicking on and off inside the car ( the hazards )

Anyway, your problem is the alarm is staying armed b/c of some mal-funtion in the ATA system...
So, I would disconnect the alarm module...but there is ONE big problem when you do that on that chassis.. If you disconnect the alarm, that also de-activates the k38 relay for starter interlock [ see why I had you do the jumper test to X27 now?]

So, once you disconnect the ATA , you have to jumper pins 30 and 87 at the k38 relay behind the speedo cluster. That will enable the use of the car and eliminate the alarm system [ which most guys do b/c they are a PIA once they start acting up. {That relay is the suspect "Clicking" you are hearing..and why I asked you to verify fuse #5..which I would change first anyway b/c they can not be diagnosed as bad by simply looking at them]
All this is in the Archieves ....... look under ATA or K38.

Man, All ive got to say is your god! Pulled the speedo, jumper the relay and she starts right up. ( BTW, for those who are reading along, make sure you unplug 3 terminals on the alamr moduel, 2 on the actuall black bo and one that is longways mounted by itself.
K23 system for the loose.

Now, onto my next project, the car idle surges and when I step on the gas, car doesnt seem to go anywhere sometimes, car doesnt rev up , but then itll eventually start moving.
Guess I need to go onto Diagnotics, im not sure how to check the CEL codes.
