1991 300 SL re-starting problems....
My 300sl will fire up instantly with NO problems.....run smoothly for about 15 minutes sometimes longer, then when leaving a stoplight sputter and stop,I can get it to idle but as soon as you give it some gas it stumbles, stops and not re-start unless it sits for about 30 to 40 minutes, if you try to instantly re-crank it it sounds as if the timing has jumped or as if its not getting any fuel and bucks and spits and absolutely will not crank. but after that 30-40 min period it fires right back up as if nothing ever happened.PLEASE advise me as to where to start.
I purchased it this week from a LIAR ![]() Buyer beware! |

I am having the same problem with me 1990 300sl and as of today it will only start for a few seconds then die. Have you resolved your problems yet. I could use some ideas. Thanks

I"ll assume the car is turning over (good batt&starter) but is not firing.Perhaps you had the moisture in the MAP sensor vac hose problem and messing with the computer displaced the moisture so that you could start it?
