clk / w208 Oil Separator

1 Attachment(s)
I am upgrading the PCV system on my 123 era diesel. I was thinking about this oil seperator from a CLK.

Does anyone know how big this item is? I am concerned about air flow.

I read a few threads where oil separators were causing problems on modern MB gas engines, is this true? And is this design related to that?

You are referring to the one on a M111 engine right? We dont have that engine in 208's in the US so a lot of people might be confused when you say 208. It seems like it might be the right size, give it a shot.

The PCV valve on the 111 clogs and as an end result allows oil into the intake, eventually screwing up the air mass sensor and requiring a lot of money to clean and fix. not necessarily the fault of the seperator.

that makes more sense, however I did read that they 'become brittle' since they are housed inside the VC.. ? This will not be my case.

I found the seperator on ebay, its overseas. You don't miss a thing.

thanks again.

The original one on the 617 is housed inside the airbox, but I havent seen one break- theres also not much to it, just a lid on a 'can' with a hole in the top and one in the bottom.

The M111 seperator has more of a cyclonic effect and seems to be a lot more effective. It bolts on the outside of the valve cover above the exhaust/supercharger.
