Exclamation SLK 32 supercharger clutch, can't find info anywhere!!

My friend recently bought a 2003 SLK 32 from California which we preceded to drive home (Maryland). About half way back we started hearing a noise from the pulley on the supercharger. After much research and tinkering I'm 99% sure its the clutch. The only place he could find it didn't give him any info other than a $1k+ price tag!!! Is this right? Is there a chance the clutch could be taken apart and serviced and if so what difficulty level would that be? I can't find definite information about this apparently common problem anywhere. Also what happens if the clutch fails? is it possible to simply remove the supercharger belt until the problem is fixed? Any help would be much appreciated folks!

The bearing goes out. If this is the noise then yes you can get the bearing. Code3 performance has just the bearing or a performance pulley for 650.
The bearing is 32.00.

The link to the bearing is for a C32. I know its a sibling, but is it the same part for the SLK32?

Also, what are the basic steps involved in doing this replacement? I'm just looking for a high level understanding. Thanks.

We put in the replacement bearing this past weekend and everything runs smoothly again. The bearing was exactly what was causing the noise. Thanks for the help finding the part, and thanks JohnHef and LandSeaAir for helping install.
