Either lift the vehicle while on the jack or get a higher lift hydraulic jack for the engine cradle or the pig, that lifts 40" like I have.

Wheel removal

The lift has a bridge for a small jack so you can remove the wheels.

Price

The price is way out of line in my opinion. Buy 4 of these instead. http://www.asedeals.com/flat-top-jack-stands.html

They're OK, but

There a lot more room under the car with a KwikLift. And the lift price is worth it considering the added safety. I will not work under any vehicle supported by jack stands no matter how good they are.

Friends of mine won't work underneath a Ford, no matter how good it is either. So what?:D

How do you deploy the stand while having the jack in operation? there is no room there. I mean, you have to use the jack to lift the car and the jack is exactly where the stand should be.

I've worked under many cars on stands and I feel safe after I do a few safey checks and have proper jack stands for the vehicle. I also put the wheels from the car by the frame just in case so I am not 100% crushed by the car

I would love a two post lift but I cannot afford one or have a place for it.

If there were any prices, I missed them. What did the one you have cost?

I like it. I don't like to let a cars suspension hang like that for long length of times like jack stands do. This one solves it for, what I consider, a decent price.

What interests me is why the " HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK" model when you buy the "Kwiklift special" package is cheaper than buying it non package price at $1697. Looks like the deal is there on that one to me.

And what does the Heavy duty truck model hold?

rurlndum 01-01-2009 07:11 PM

Truck model

7,000 lbs.

cphilip 01-01-2009 07:23 PM

Thats not what I might call a Heavy duty truck... I would need at least 9000 to suit me... but... still might be the one to buy I would think. For the money.

Matt L 01-01-2009 07:34 PM

The site mentions this: you don't need a 9000 lb lift for a 9000 lb GVWR vehicle.

Roncallo 01-01-2009 07:38 PM

NG on the price a 7000LB 4 post lift is cheeper than the 7000Lb truck model. In fact you can get a 9000Lb 4 post Bend Pak for about $300 more than this 7000 Lb Truck Model. I would not be surprised to find a 5000-6000 Lb 4 post lift for the same price as this car model.

A four-poster would be a lot more functional, that's for sure. The rolling jack that you'll want is another grand, but it adds even more utility.

I'd prefer a two-post in-ground (cassette) lift, but that probably won't happen any time soon. My garage floor would need to be entirely replaced to put an above-ground two-poster in there.

rurlndum 01-01-2009 09:14 PM

Ah, but you're wrong

"NG on the price a 7000LB 4 post lift is cheeper than the 7000Lb truck model."

VG on the price. It works very well putting my little Mercedes at a comfortable working height in my garage with a 10' ceiling. And I can have the hood open when it's on the lift. No electricity, no hydraulics, and best of all . . . no lift cables. Excellent quality and no 1700 lb. shipping charges. I would have bought a Bend Pak if I had a 20' ceiling in my garage.

Not sure what you mean by "cheeper".

True.. but I am not talking about GVWR vehicle, I have a truck that on the scales weighs 9000 pounds and I would have liked to use it on that truck if I could. But... that one is an exception so I guess its a no go for that one. But no... this one actually WEIGHS 9000 pounds as it sits.

rurlndum 01-02-2009 03:00 PM

Heavy duty truck

Kwik Lift has a 14,000 lb. model for forklifts but I don't know if it would work for you.

Glen 01-02-2009 06:15 PM

The Kwiklift is pretty cool. I like that you can park on it, it accomdates any width from very narrow to very wide, and that it's mobile.

pawoSD 01-02-2009 07:55 PM

For that amount of money I could build a similar device out of super strong wood, and still save $$!

hookedon210s 01-03-2009 01:24 AM

The price looks steep for what it is. Mark
