87 300e turns over but will not start

After I replaced my fuel filter I had my wife start the car while I was under it to check for leaks. The fuel filter did not leak but the line leading to the fuel pump did. While the car was running I foolishly attempted to tighten the connections to the fuel pump and got a good spark. The car stopped running and I have not been able to get it started since. I realize I'm lucky no fires started so I'll live to make many more blunders in the future. Did I destroy the fuel pumps or worse? Thanks for any help.

I will guess that you blew a fuse. Have you checked the fuel pump fuse?

Yep, fuse or relay most likely.

Wow, I just did the exact same thing 10 minutes ago...how interesting.

Where is the fuel pump fuse located??? I can't find it anywhere!

Thanks for the quick responses its nice to know others are out there with help full information.

Is there a separate fuse for the fuel pump other than the fuel pump relay?

Fuse #7..........

Really? I checked all the fuses in the fuse box and they all looked fine.

Wait, I just realized we are talking about two different cars....maybe I should start a new thread? The car i'm working on is an 86' 560SEC.

I also checked my fuses then opened the compartment behind the easy open fuse box. Found 2 fuses in good condition with what looks like 5 or 6 relays.

I tried my known good Fuel pump relay and OVP from my 87 560SEL, but it still wouldn't start.

I placed a jumper wire between pins 30 an 87 on the fuel pump relay, heard a buzzing turned the ignition and the car started. Thanks to all for steering me in the right direction.
