Your opinion on Directional Snow Tires

Had a thought yesterday as I mounted 4 snows. Since the front tires do the bulk of the braking, should the front tires be mounted on the rim opposite the direction of rotation as indicated on the tire? I ask this question in regard to rear wheel drive 2 wheel drive cars. Seems logical as traction would be needed during braking and never in the other direction. HMM

I believe the directional design also requires mounting in the right direction due to the way it clears the snow and water from the treads. You might lose traction if they're mounted opposite.

Agreed. The directional design of the tires takes braking into consideration as braking takes more traction than accelerating.
