380sl - climate control/ventilation just stopped!
Hey y'all -
I've got an 83 380sl with 200k+ miles (odometer stopped at 231!) but runs beautiful (knock on wood - zebrano in my case!).
Anyway, the entire climate control/ventilation just stopped working. No flow on any setting whatsoever. It had been working fine for the past 3 months (since i bought it) - no A/C (b/c no A/C belt), but air was blowing, and keeping me warm!
It JUST stopped working . . . I did have it jumped recently, but it was working fine after the jump. The only thing I've done that I think may be playing a role is I put too much crap in the trunk and tried to force it closed. I don't know if that could be related, but I figure, since the battery's back there . . . who knows.
Any recommendations on what to check out? The service manuals (I have the originals, believe it or not) don't even have a diagram of the trunk mechanics, so if the vacuum is back there, I can't figure out where to find it and make sure it isn't just a wire I shook loose.
No other problems that I see being related - the radio antenna has always been temperamental, and the driver's side key won't lock the door (but I can still lock it by leaning over through the passenger side - so that system is fine) . . . but otherwise, it's been the best $4500 (and I don't need to be told if I was ripped off, btw - I am very happy with my purchase) I've ever spent.
