Loud clunk from rear end upon shifts
 
87 W124, I'm guessing its the differential mount/bushing. Anyone think its something else? TIA

Most likely the 2 bushings at the rear of the diff- Did mine a couple mounths ago

Is it difficult, will they need to be pressed in/out?

Check flex disk too, and trans mount.

+2 flex disks.....you don't want it to cut loose while driving. Front one is beneath your rump.:eek:

Yes sir- that is the bushing I replaced ( well 2 of them)
But like the others said,check every thing out real well before you go ordering parts.

Is this something I can do in my garage on jackstands or will I need a lift? I don't have a press.
