I found the heating problem! 300te.

I found my heat problem. The aux water pump on my 300te was not working. A quick swat with a hammer and it works now. BUT...it's obvious that it needs repair. new ones are $100+. Are these things repairable?

Same problem with my 190e 2.6 i read that you can disassemble unit and clean parts. It may work?

Perform a search, some forum people have repaired leaky aux pumps. I tried but ended up replacing it. Another option is bypassing the aux pump.

You can force oil into the bearings and sometimes get it to work properly. I did this on one in my 201 and one on a VR6. If it doesn't leak, simply turns hard, try lubing it and putting it back together (remember "clocking" or the rotational orientation of the pump to motor). If you can get it to turn freely and not draw over ~800mA it should be fine.

Your current problem however might be that it is drawing enough current that it will permanently damage the expensive Climate Control Unit that powers it. I suggest un-plugging it or at very least fusing it at 1amp until you have verified its operation or repaired it. Also, if it is turning hard, it is working the motor hard (thus the higher amp-draw) which will shorten the life of the motor and its brushes.

If the problem is just the motor not turning, use ATF fluid on the bearings. My '92 300E had the same problem. After using ATF fluid, the motor spins with no problems.

Does the 95 E320 use this aux pump? From what Ive gathered, its seems to have a more expensive unit fitted to it in comparison to the older 124's.

My heat only gets "warm" at best. Could this be my problem?
