Brake Job for S500 year 2000-Best brake pads?
I have a 2000 S500 with 79k miles.
I'm going to attempt my first brake job. I have new Zimmermann disks cross drilled type. Can anyone suggest what would be a good brake pad? Most of my driving is light city traffic. Will there be any special tools required? Will I need to bleed the brakes after changing disks and pads? Should I use the anti squeek stuff? Do you know of any sites or threads with step by step directions on how to do this? Thanks in advance Gary |

Hard to beat OEM pads designed for the car.
OEM pads I've purchased in the past have had an elastic coating on the back of the pads. Mine has never squeaked.... You'll need the normal array of hex bits, maybe an impact driver to get the small hex screw out attaching the rotor and a 3lb hammer to get the rotor broken loose. Shouldn't need to bleed them.
