another part to ID please

this is on a 1975 450SL:

Hello again,

no problems with this part, which serves as some kind of engine support from what I can tell...would just like to know it's name and function. There's one on each side of the engine.

it's the black rubber tube, capped by a silver color cap with a nut holding the whole thing together, immediately to the left of the two pink rubber hoses. The bottom portion is anchored to the wall of the engine compartment.
