Oil Filter Removal
 

I have a 1996 C-280. The oil filter is a cartrige type located at the back of the engine. It has a plastic cap. None of my filter wrenches will fit. Any ideas?

I got my filter wrench by calling the 800 number at the top of this screen and ordering it. It fit snugly and required a 22 mm socket to turn.

I think you can also get the filter wrench at your local MB Dealer ~$10.00 or so.

I use my hand!! It's a little awkward, but it works for me! Many people swear that using your hand works, but some would ONLY use the filter wrench. On my C280, I have always used my hand, never needed a wrench, just used some muscle!!
