timing marks don't line up
 

hi,

i've got a 86 420 SEL, was trying to see how much the timing chain has stretched...the timing marks on both cams don't line up...if i line up the left (driver's side) cam marks the balancer shows 0 degrees, if i keep turning till the right cam marks line up then the balancer is showing 14 degrees...anyone know what's causing this? the car runs fine (except for a bad right side camshaft (worn lobe)) the chain doesn't make any noise when i start the car...any help will be appreciated.
