Exhaust dilemma

I need a new catalytic converter on my 2.6, current one is a magnaflow 94008 which is a dual in and dual out cat with 2'' ID.

due to the previous problems with bad valve stem seals, the burning oil pretty much destroyed the cat and now rattles like crazy. I tried to capture the audio in the videos, but the digital camera microphone isnt capturing it as well as you would hear it in person.

The exhaust shop I went to and magnaflow's website suggests to install the 36037 with 2x 2'' inlets and 1x 2.5'' outlet

My options at this point are to either use the dual in/out and keep my resonator, or use the single out and delete the resonator. i'm leaning more towards using the single 2.5'' out and deleting the resonator because then it would be much easier in the future for me to upgrade my exhaust. using the dual out would require me to use a Y in the future from 2x 2'' to 1x 2.5'' which is kind of awkward in my opinion.

what would you guys think?
