Rear Stabilizer bar - safety risk?
Has anyone ever had a MB without a stabilizer bar?
Mine has fallen off one side - makes an awful clunking on the other when rounding corners and going over bumps. The mounts to the frame have completely rotted/rusted out. So rusty, probably impossible to weld. The car is only worth $1000 and has many other things wrong with it - not worth fixing, but I do want to keep driving it. Is it safe? It can't be any worse than it is right now as one mount is completely rusted out. I have taken it out on a deserted road at low speeds and woven violently side to side to see what the feel is like - I don't feel much difference. Roll isn't any more noticeable - does anyone know how important that is to regular stability? Thanks for the replies.
