the center vents aren't working on my daughters 89 260E. Anyone had this issue? How can I fix? DIY links? Photo aids?

If you are expecting heat from the center vents the answer is there is no issue. Only cool air is supplied fron the center vents by design.

Only cool air, and only when the system is calling for cooling. If the system is calling for heat, those vents close internally.
