I'm not getting any fire from the left side ignition coil on my '95 S420.I removed both coils and switched them, still no fire coming from left coil. The engine will start and run,but is running on the right side only.I'm getting 14V at both coils when the car is running and battery voltage when engine is off and ignition on.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't sound right. What makes you think you're getting no spark from the left side coil? The car wouldn't run on 4 cylinders. Have you checked the fault codes?

I didn't think it could run on 4 cyls either.Motor runs but very rough.By doing a quick check with my Wakeon KV arc quick probe that has an inductive pickup and digital high voltage display with a flashing led at each ignition pulse I'm not getting a reading from the left coil wire.No I didn't check any trouble codes, wil try to do it in the AM,thanks

Left side cylinders and left side ignition coil are two different things. The left side coil, assuming you mean the coil that drives the left/driver's side distributor, actually fires two cylinders on the left bank (5 and 8) and two cylinders on the right bank (2 and 3). Checking the output at the cylinders may provide some clues.
