Manual Engine Cranking
To manually crank my 450SL engine, do I rotate the engine clockwise as I stand in front of the engine? Also, I'm having trouble finding the crank bolt. Is it under some type of shroud? Any help would be appreciated.

1. Clockwise, and ONLY clockwise.
2. There is a nut inside the pulley at the harmonic balancer. On earlier cars, there MIGHT be a plastic cap over it. At least on my cars, the nut (which, again, may be underneath a cap on your car) is 27MM. |
