4matic rear diff 1989 W124 TE
 

Does anyone know ,or where I can find out the part number for a rear diff for an early 124 4Matic estate, I have located a used one and I would like to see if the part number is correct for mine. The Russian site has only a blank page for that area of parts. I have managed to get the 4Matic working 100% with info from this forum but now the whine from the back is the new target with your help!........ Reuben in Kent , England

Have you tried a synthetic gear oil? It got rid of the whine on my dad's W126.....
