e420 accessing n59 diagnostic module
Alldata shows the n59 module as being under the cowl on the pass side on my 94 e420. Is there an easy way to get to it for testing?
I cant find it to save my life. Unless its buried under the dash and you cant get to it from the bottom, Im out of ideas. I just cant find anything that looks like the picture.
is it a 210? or 124? Remove the cowl and you should see it, if its a 124 remove the battery and you'll have a little more room to work with.
It's on the left side, battery is on the right side, and at the other end of the car. But is Arthur's link saying it's CA version only?
just remove the cowling, there might be a few screws holding it to the rain tray/ wiper assembely
vin decoder says it is CA version. Its a 124 chassis. There is nothing but a vent by the battery. All data shows 2 locations depending on which diagram I look at. One is left side just in front of door. Trust me I've dug around to the metal from all angles and I dont see anything remotely close. The other shows it being around the cowl near the CAN box.

Do you have a CE lamp?

Best to keep one thread....
Look between N30 and N16... |
nothing but wiper components and air vents/filters under the cowl.
nothing between N30 and N16 they're right next to each other. Im starting to think it might be integrated into the N30 module maybe? |
You have a CE , so you know you are Cal Version.. and Cal has to have N/59...........so, is there a Purple module there with the others?
That picture is pretty vague, hard to recognize anything, but have you looked under the dash, inside the car, to the left of the steering wheel?
Try right footwell..
arthur i have no purple modules in the CAN box, only black, gray, orange and green. I've pulled down the black plastic cover from the left footwell and havent been able too see much but covered wiring and pedal linkages. Its possible its up there but I would have to pull the lower section of dashboard below the steering wheel and i havent located all the bolts to loosen it yet. I'll check right footwell next chance i get.
