Check eng. Lite, EGR pipe, possible help!
 

1995 S-320, after having problems with the check eng. lite being intermittent then staying on. looked in forum for info. The info. was great. The only problem I experienced was cleaning the egr pipe at the manifold. The blockage was exactly where the info. I received on the froum indicated it would be. Removing the the erg pipe looked like a pretty difficult and time consuming job. My remedy was to tuck some shop rages in the bottom of the intake manifold with some retievieal strings attached. I then fashioned a "J" tube from 1/4" copper tubing and was able to feed it through the throttle body into openning of the egr pipe to guide the speedo cable for cleaning the erg pipe. Worked like a charm. Cleared the pipe. Vacuumed the throttle body and manifold, removed rages and vacuumed the inside of manifold again. Bottom line code cleared and has not reapeared.
