Speedo

Hi
Just like to know if the speedo drive pinion on a 1988 190E 2.3 is the same as the one in a 190E 1991 2.3, is the ratio to DS the same?
I just put the speedo out of the 91 into the 88 Miles, as the 88 was in miles and the 91 was in metric.
Went for a drvie and before 3000 RPM = 100KMS now it =120 KMs
Any ideas.
