Merecedes C280 1996
I am told my C280 is a 3.6 ...all the info I see on the net list the C280 with 2.8's. How can i confirm? Also, I am experiencing a hard start after the first start of the day. is it the cam shaft position sensor as my mechanic thinks? Look forward to some definitive answers. Thanks.

You can list your VIN if you'd like so we can decipher which engine it should be. There was a C36 AMG which had the 3.6 in it, if yours has never been messed with it should be a 2.8
One thing I do recall from this time period, regarding a few problem cars we had with a problem like this; it will sound a bit odd, but if you ar running premium fuel, try switching to midgrade fuel, we fixed a few mid 90's M104 engine hard cold start complaints this way, worth a try anyways. Gilly
