rear brakes

I am going to embark on replacing the rear brakes on my 87 560 sel next week. The brakes have started to squeal while not pressing down on the brake pedal. Was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or experiences that would help with the process?

I too own a 87 560SEL. If all you are going to have to do is replace the pads (inspect the disc to make sure), replacing the rear brakes is a very simple process. If it's just a pads problem, send me an email at jardrewer@aol.com and I'll send you a step by step walk through. If you only have to replace the pads, it should only take about 1/2 hour to change both sides. It takes longer to jack up the car and take off the wheel than it does to change the pads.

Doing pads is an easy job. If you have to do the rotors (discs) then the job can become difficult. Getting the rotors off can be a problem.
