What is a rear hanger bearing ?

My C240 has been making this whining from the right rear wheel for months at speed between 62mph and 75mph. The dealer found no solution the problem. And, finally today, the service advisor informed me that they had a bulletin about the the rear hanger bearing that it is the cause of the noise. Anyway, what is the rear hanger bearing?

Thanks,
Johf

The bearing hanger is related to the driveshaft in some manner...so I suspect the rear hanger bearing is located near or on the u-joint connection between the driveshaft and the rear differential.

I would think that a *rear hanger bearing* is a support for the exhaust system.
