126 rear brakes

I am going to replace the rear brake pads and rotors on my 87 560 sel next week and am just starting to take things apart and check what I need before I start ordering parts. One question I have now while removing the passenger side brake caliper is if I should disconnect the brake line before I try to take off the caliper. I have finally gotten the two fastening bolts loose and I can't quite get the caliper off the disc. Any tricks to this procedure?

You don't have to disconnect the brake line from the caliper unless you are replacing it. Have you pulled the old pads out? They might hang up the whole assembly even if you have removed the two bolts that mount the caliper.

Yeah, when I replaced the rear pads on my W126 (300SEL), the passenger rear was a pain to remove, because I had let the pads wear down too much. Finally got them free, installed new pads and all was fine. We didnt remove the brake lines either. May just have to put a little more muscle into it.
