126 Speedo Transmitter

Pulled the cluster and all seems OK. If the transmitter on the transmition is faulty, how can I check? From what I'm told the wires are within the tranny??

Speedo transmitter in trans creates an increasing A/C voltage as the car goes faster.

Measure at plug to cluster between the white & brown wires on the 6 pin connector.
