is it a sign a blown engine?
Hello out there, i own a 1988 w124, 300e. I stalled a week ago. trying to start the car and nothing. before it stop, i had white/blue smoke. was told to check the oil. Houch! i had about 3 liters extra... it's water...
Not good any body knows the problem or direct me? at the same time. is there a way to restart it just so i can move it. Thanks mar26 Vancouver island, Canada |

If there's that much water in the oil (crankcase) it's coolant, and it should not be there. Call a flatbed, don't try to drive it. Probably a bad head gasket; maybe a crack. Oh, well, everybody walks sooner or later.

If you plan on resurrecting it, better get that water out of there before it rusts everything up.

On any engine that would signal a bad headgasket and those engines are notorious for that.

mar26, attempting to start the engine with water possibly in the combustion chambers could cause even more damage. Have your 1988 300E towed to a reputable shop for a diagnosis and estimate to repair.
