420sel Cruise control switch

How do you remover and replace a 420sel Cruise control switch on stearing column

If it's like my 300SD and 500SEC, remove the steering wheel, remove the 2-3 screws holding the combination switch and cruise switch to the column.
Unplug the two wiring harness plugs just behind the lower dash panel, which will require removing the knee/shin panel. Then just gently wiggle them back and forth as you pull the switches off of the column, to get the plugs through the hole in the dash and the plastic shield around the column.

On your car, I'm assuming that you have an airbag to watch out for as well, so safe it and make sure that it's out of the way before having to much fun!
