1991 300se driver door light problem
 

I recently replaced the ground light lens/socket on the driver side. The wiring was stiff and hard to pull far enough out to put the new fixture in. Since then the light and interior lights do not turn on when opening the driver side. The driver side light does work when activated by the passenger door. What have I done? How do I fix it? Thanks.
